What to Expect
Prior to Your First Office Visit:
You will receive an e-mail about five days before your scheduled appointment linking you to our registration page. Follow the link to register as a new patient, complete the medical/dental history, view our HIPPA policy and complete the insurance information page as needed. You will sign the completed forms in the office upon arrival. If you do not have access to fill out the forms online, please arrive fifteen minutes before your appointment, so the forms can be completed before your appointment begins. Please do not print out the forms and write in the answers, you will have to re-enter the information in the office.
What You Can Expect at Your First Visit
Your first visit will begin with a set of photographs and a panoramic radiograph (if needed). After the records are taken, Dr. Scroggins will complete a thorough initial orthodontic examination and determine possible courses treatment. Dr. Scroggins and the treatment coordinator will meet with the patient and his/her family to discuss the proposed treatment, timelines, office policies and a breakdown of the fees for the proposed treatment. You can expect this visit to last approximately thirty minutes.
While at your first visit, we will help you get acquainted with our office and learn about your orthodontic needs. We understand that each patient’s orthodontic needs are different, and we promise to give you a personalize treatment plan to fit your needs.
What Happens Next?
If Dr. Scroggins determines that the patient is ready to begin an early phase of orthodontics or conventional comprehensive orthodontic treatment, the remaining diagnostic records (photographs and x-ray) can be completed immediately, if desired. This will require an additional ten minutes and the cost will be included in the overall treatment fee.
Otherwise, if Dr. Scroggins determines the patient currently is not ready for treatment or does not need treatment, they will be put into our recall program. Our recall program is designed to closely monitor the patient’s growth and development. A timeline for a recall examination will be determined and our recall system will notify you when it is time to return to our office for another exam. No payment is expected until treatment is recommended and has started.
